Week 3 Start/Sit

Posted: September 20, 2014 in Sit/Start - Week 3

Week 3 has arrived and Waiver Wagon has you covered for all of your last minute lineup decisions.

Chargers @ Bills

Start:
Philip Rivers
Bills secondary is less than awesome and Rivers will be without his top RB for a while.
Antonio Gates
Rivers will continue to look his way early and often.
Keenan Allen
Showed up against Sherman last week and looked good doing it. He has my confidence.

Sammy Watkins
The rook will have his ups and downs, but the Bills should have to throw and he will get the targets.

Sit:
Donald Brown
I’m sorry you missed out on Knile Davis this week. Donald Brown is not the awesome.

CJ Spiller/Fred Jackson
Unless they are the only RBs you have, I’d find someone else for your RB slots this week.

Titans @ Bengals

Start:
Delanie Walker
Looked fantastic last week and should be targeted often in this one.
Jake Locker
Broke some hearts last week, I think he rewards those that still trust him with a lineup spot.

Mohamed Sanu
This may be his first and last chance to be Cincy’s #1 WR this season because of the bye week and Green’s return from injury.
Gio Bernard
TEN has a solid D, but I think Gio will do enough in the passing game to be a solid start.

Sit:
Shonn Greene
Because, Shonn Greene.

Jeremy Hill
I don’t see much work for Hill this week.

Ravens @ Browns

Start:
Steve Smith
Agent 89 has 25 targets in two games and looks like 10 years younger so far.
Baltimore D/ST
CLE just doesn’t have enough weapons on the field to pose much of a threat.

Andrew Hawkins
Baby Hawk will need to learn to fly this week. 22 targets so far makes me think he will.

Sit:
Joe Flacco
*Yawns*
Torrey Smith
Smith is a deep-ball guy and not much more. He’ll probably be a regular Sit for me.

Terrance West
Unless he’s all you’ve got.
Bryan Hoyer
He’s a game-manager and probably isn’t on many fantasy teams anyway.

Packers @ Lions

Start:
Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb
Green Bay will be on turf, in a high-scoring game, and they love to throw. Start with confidence.

Matt Stafford, Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate, Joique Bell
Again, this should be a high-scoring affair and Bell should find the endzone at least once.

Sit:
Eddie Lacy
Coming off of a concussion and DET has a fantastic D-Line. Sit Eddie if you have a better option.

Reggie Bush
I know, I know, he’s the “starter”, but I just don’t see him being very involved as Bell has been getting more touches and targets and should be featured in this game.

Colts @ Jaguars

Start:
Andrew Luck, T.Y. Hilton, Ahmad Bradshaw
The Jaguars D is pretty bad and Luck will do everything he can to get his team in the win column this week. Statement game.

Cecil Shorts
If he plays, he should be in your lineup as JAX will have to throw and he’s their best target.

Sit:
Trent Richardson
*Shudders*

Toby Gerhart
I’m sorry that you had to draft him. Great runner, horrible situation.

Raiders @ Patriots

Start:
James Jones
Oakland should be down in this game early and Jones is their top WR.

Tom Brady, Stevan Ridley, Rob Gronkowski
Brady should finally have a top-flight performance and Ridley will be the bell-cow.

Sit:
Raiders RBs
Jones-Drew may not be playing in this one, but you don’t want to play McFadden either.

Vikings @ Saints

Start:
Cordarelle Patterson
Vikes should be looking to play catch-up all game long and CP84 is a dynamic player.
Matt Asiata
He’s a plodder, but he’s all they’ve got for now and he’s decent in the passing game.

Drew Brees, Jimmy Graham, Pierre Thomas, Marcus Colston, Khiry Robinson
Brees should have a HUGE game here and everyone around him will benefit. The Saints will be at home and looking to avoid an 0-3 start.

Sit:
Matt Cassel
He may end up with decent yardage totals due to throwing 50+ times, but I think he gets picked and sacked several times.

Kenny Stills
Brees will be spreading it out, but I think Cooks has taken over for Stills and Graham/Colston will be catching most of the passes in this one.

Texans @ Giants

Start:
Andre Johnson
This will be his biggest game this year. He will look like the Andre Johnson of old. Get him in your lineup.
Arian Foster
He’s getting a ton of work and that should continue, though he may be hampered by a hammy. Check his status before starting him.

Rashad Jennings, Larry Donnell
Jennings will be featured in the passing game and Donnell is Eli’s favorite target so far.

Sit:
Victor Cruz, Eli Manning
This is what is known as a lost season for these two.

Redskins @ Eagles

Start:
Kirk Cousins, Alfred Morris, Niles Paul
This should be a high-scoring game and I expect Cousins to connect with Paul at least once while Morris should score on a goal line carry.

Jeremy Maclin, LeSean McCoy, Darren Sproles
Maclin has looked really good so far and that should continue. McCoy and Sproles have both been fantastic and should have a couple of big plays between them.

Sit:
DeSean Jackson
I know he wants revenge, but I just don’t think he gets it.

Nick Foles
This is more of a gut feeling that he has an OK game, but nothing exciting. He’s a borderline play.

Cowboys @ Rams

Start:
DeMarco Murray, Dez Bryant
Murray has been putting the team on his back and I don’t expect that to change this week. Bryant has an injury, but that didn’t keep him from going for 100+ while shoving teammates his last time out.

Zac Stacy, Bryan Quick
The Rams might get down in this one, but Stacy is all they have and should see plenty of carries to pile up decent yardage totals. Quick will be a PPR monster this week.

Sit:
Tony Romo, Jason Witten
Romo has really been awful this season and I don’t see things changing this week. Witten has a terrible matchup as the Rams are only good at defending TEs.

Austin Davis
He might end up with decent yardage totals, but I think he gets harassed this week on a regular basis.

49ers @ Cardinals

Start:
Anquan Boldin
Patrick Peterson should be shadowing Michael Crabtree in this one, which will open things up for Boldin to have a big game.

Michael Floyd, Larry Fitzgerald
Floyd did NOTHING last week, but he was targeted deep a few times. I expect at least one of those to drop in this week. Fitz should be leaned on by Stanton heavily in this one.

Sit:
Frank Gore
I can see Gore being contained this week by a solid Arizona LB core.

Andre Ellington
His foot has been an issue and the 49ers just don’t let RBs do anything.

Chiefs @ Dolphins

Start:
Travis Kelce, Knile Davis
Kelce has been getting more and more involved lately and is a solid TE. Despite Charles “practicing”, I think Davis is the play here.

Mike Wallace
Wallace looked good last week and should be targeted early and often in this one.

Sit:
Alex Smith, Jamaal Charles
Smith will be just as average as usual and Charles won’t be playing.

Ryan Tannehill, Dolphins RBs
Tannehill has not been very impressive and whichever RB starts, he’ll either be limited due to an injury or overall lack of talent.

Broncos @ Seahawks

Start:
Julius Thomas, Wes Welker
Peyton won’t have a huge game, but the two TDs that he throws will be to these two guys.

Marshawn Lynch, Russell Wilson
Lynch will be leaned on heavily to keep Manning on the sidelines and Wilson should provide an overall good line.

Sit:
Montee Ball
Seattle is very stingy against the run and Ball has not looked great so far this year.

Doug Baldwin
Kearse, Miller, and a WR that no one has ever heard of, will be the ones catching passes from Wilson this week.

Steelers @ Panthers

Start:
Antonio Brown, Heath Miller
Brown will be highly targeted this week and should contribute accordingly. Miller should have a nice game as Carolina seems to struggle defending TEs.

Cam Newton, Kelvin Benjamin, Greg Olsen
Cam will shine in this game. I expect him to have early connections with Benjamin and Olsen as well as a rushing TD.

Sit:
Le’veon Bell
It’s Carolina. Pittsburgh may not even try to run the ball.

Carolina RBs
Tolbert is hurt, DeAngelo is iffy and Stewart only scores from 2 yards out. I’ll pass for now.

Bears @ Jets

Start:
Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, Matt Forte, Martellus Bennett
I expect a route in this one with Cutler continuing to throw TDs to Marshall and Bennett while Forte racks up yardage to seal the victory.

Geno Smith
Geno has looked decent this year and he should have some success on the ground and through the air.

Sit:
Alshon Jeffrey
He’s injured and may not play.

Chris Johnson, Chris Ivory
I just don’t see them having much success this week.
